How many weekends a year have you committed to personal development in 2016? Do you have specific goals around personal development or areas you’d like to work on? As I mentioned at the end of 2015, my word of the year is Service and I am focusing on becoming more of a servant leader this year. Today I’ll be participating in my second personal development weekend of the year, a reunion with my USANA family for the Canadian National Celebration here in Toronto.
Gratitude Tip: What is your commitment to personal development this year? Are you committed to living more gratefully? Or perhaps you also have a commitment to service as I do? As we more into the 3rd month of the year take some time to reflect on where you’d like to be at the end of year when it comes to your own personal development journey.
Today I’ll be spending the day learning from Darren Hardy, the bestselling author of The Compound Effect, The Entrepreneur Roller Coaster and the former publisher of Success Magazine. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to listen to Darren Hardy speak on several occasions before, include three years ago in Chicago when my business partner and good friend Brittany Miethner and I drove OVERNIGHT to Chicago from Southern Ontario (9 hours) in a massive rainstorm that had closed the airport and flooded the surrounding areas. Yes, it was worth it! This time I’ll be driving about 40 minutes to the Conference Center and it will be a dry, sunny winter’s day.
It may seem as though I attend a lot of seminars, workshops and events. It depends on your perspective. When I look at the most successful people in my profession of Network Marketing, they are committed to at least a half a dozen event like this per year, some even more. And they attended all of these events BEFORE they achieved massive success. Coincidence? Not very likely. Over the next few days I’ll be sharing some of my key learnings and take-aways from the different speakers. Stay tuned for a daily update and to my USANA family, I look forward to seeing many of you in person over the next few days.
It’s Day 34 of the #40daysofgratitude challenge! The home stretch! Let’s make a commitment together to post some amazing photos of gratitude over the next week.
