An Appreciation for Nature
How much time do you spend outside? Do you make an effort to connect with nature every day? It is vitally important to our health and well being that we find the time to breathe in fresh air on a daily basis. Last night, I watched the sunset over the lake in Hamilton. This morning, I attempted to watch the sunrise over the lake here in Burlington.
Gratitude Tip: Nature and gratitude are beautifully intertwined. It is easy to be grateful when you look outside. Take a moment every day to give thanks for the sun that warms our planet and makes it possible for all life to exist.
This morning I awoke before my alarm (a new ritual I started this week!) and decided to get up, rather than snooze for an extra 15 min. It was still dark. I put on my running shoes and headed out for my walk. I decided that I would walk down to the lake this morning to see the sunrise. It took me a lot longer than I had expected to get down to the lake (almost 30 min) and even though it was light out, the sun hadn’t risen yet. I headed back home and watched the sun rise over the trees while walking though our nearby park.
This morning’s adventure gave me two things. First, that I am able to walk for a lot longer than I thought (50 min today!) and feel even more energized. Second, even though I missed the sunrise, I still experienced the beauty of nature.
