Becoming a Better Leader
Yesterday I was thinking about how I hadn’t seen my team often during the day and one my good friends and fellow leader reminded me that the Convention is just as much for me as it is for them. In order for me to be become a better leader, I have to attend the sessions that are going to be most valuable for me and my own growth.
Gratitude Tip: In order to serve others and to lead to your highest potential, it’s essential that you continue to learn and grow at your own pace. It’s the speed of the leader that sets the speed of the pack. The best way to be of service to your team is to become a better leader.
I really enjoyed the first day of our International Convention this year. It was a long day but absolutely wonderful in so many ways. This year I earned what we call Executive status (an income goal that takes 13 consecutive weeks to achieve). I had read about the perks before attending but once I experienced them, I will never return to another Convention without being qualified at that level.
My day started with an early registration, my business partners and I were actually the very first ones to enter the VIP registration area! After that, we were giving access to an exclusive shopping event, where we had the opportunity to shop in the USANA store before the masses. It was awesome. My kind of shopping.
After a quiet lunch, I spent some time listening to the speakers in what is called the Gold and Above room, which is only for those who have reached a leadership level in the company, so the topics are more geared to building and growing our teams. I snuck out after the first speaker to head over for our rehearsal in the stadium. I even wore my heels to practice! It was a lot of fun and I know Friday is going to be an experience of a lifetime.
At the end of the day, I enjoyed another Executive perk, we had a special preview meeting about what’s being launched today. No, I won’t be spilling the beans on my blog but stay tuned because over the next few hours the product launch will be all over Facebook. And I am SO excited!!!!
I have been making the best of the moments throughout my day and I am so grateful to have spent the last six weeks working on living my core values, because it has changed my experience in many ways this year. I am so grateful to be here and am so so grateful for the amazing people who work on the corporate side of USANA. I am proud to be a part of the USANA family and now is the best time since I joined over 9 years ago to join us. ‘If not now, then when? If not USANA, then what?’
It’s been wonderful meeting so many of you in person. Please say hello if we run into each other today! Free hugs!
