Today I tried something new! Did you know that you could make a juice with a Vitamix? Neither did I! Inspired by a few friends who had shared their juice photos with me, I decided to give it a go. I made a little video of the steps on Instagram. Basically, I took all of the ingredients in the Super Green Lemonade and blended them in the Vitamix. After that, I pushed the pulp, through a cheesecloth secured over the rim of a mason jar, with a spoon. I have no idea how I thought of that but it worked! And the juice was amazing! I added a few ice cubes to make is colder. In the future, I would make it in the evening and store in a mason jar with a lid in the fridge until morning. I think it’s time to invest in a few mason jars for drinking!
Lunch was leftover tacos with Romaine lettuce again. I think these are even better the next day. I found a great new black bean hummus at Costco and spread that first, added salsa, avocado, Daiya cheddar and the reheated (in a pan) rice and bean mix from last night. Delicious!
What I really love about this program is that many of the recipes are super easy and make several portions so you often have leftovers depending on how many people you are cooking for.
Tonight I headed out at an event with the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, called The Shift. It really enjoyed it! Here’s a tip for when you are attending 5 – 7 type of events. Have a larger than usual snack at around 3 pm. That way you don’t arrive hungry. And when you get home, make a smoothie for dinner, which is easier to digest as you are probably eating later than normal.
Tomorrow I will be at One Health Clubs in Mississauga to share the 30 Day Whole Body Detox with members and staff. I am looking forward to supporting their group detox program starting on April 22nd, right after the long weekend.
