Once you’re in the groove of the program, it’s actually not that hard. Do I miss having a drink on the weekend? Yes. Do I like the savings from not purchasing alcohol? Yes. What’s pretty amazing about this program is that you don’t know how good you can feel until you know how good you can feel. I had no idea how badly I was feeling before!
Stabilizing your moods is a massive side effect of this program. I was definitely suffering from mood swings, and some pretty major lows in the weeks before the program. It’s possible I may have begun to suffer from S.A.D. – as I am sure many people living in the Great White North did this year. After the first few days, my mood has been great and I haven’t felt any of the lows I had been feeling before. And I feel super optimistic and excited for the next few months.
My breakfast recipe was found in the new Oh She Glows recipe book, a Classic Green Monster, a simple and tasty recipe to start the day. You are welcome to use other recipes during the program, as long as they fit into the criteria of what is and is not recommended during the detox. Another lunch visit to Lettuce Love Café, I can’t get enough of this place! It’s so great for the detox, so if you’re close enough to drive to Burlington Ontario, you’ve got to make it a date during your 30 days. I had my favorite, the Goddess Bowl (naturally). Dinner was a twist on the Ginger Peanut Stir Fry, I traded quinoa for the brown rice as I had it for lunch, and added some zucchini that was left over from the Extra Green Frittata recipe.
