Week one of the 28 Day Total Body Detox is complete!!! Although I just did the math and Day 28 is the Victoria Day holiday, so technically I won’t be drinking for the long weekend. At least we’re not going away! It’s always a challenge to fit in a 28 Day program but it’s ok if you have to make different choices to suit what’s going on in your life. And sometimes it may be nice to have an excuse not to overindulge or drink too much. I’m feeling very good today, started the day with a green smoothie from The Green Smoothie Bar recipe in our Detox Guide. I’m getting better at making these. I’ll admit, I’m still adding my 1/2 of a packet of REV3. I just love this product for the mental clarity it gives me, and since the caffeine source is from teas, I feel comfortable adding it to my regime.
Tonight’s dinner was detox success! My whole family loved it!! My daughter asked for seconds!! First, I had baked a batch of kale chips (meant as an appetizer but my timing was off). My husband did a bbq salmon with my special marinade and a few grilled asparagus. We topped it all off with a Detox Salad, the recipe from Angela Liddon of ohsheglows.com. She contributed the recipe to our Detox Guide. I was a bit nervous about the salad, lots of cruciferous veggies and only lemon juice with a bit of maple syrup. It was SO delicious! Everyone loved it! I was shocked when my daughter asked for more salmon and salad. What a pleasant surprise. Let’s just say that I will be making this again.
