One of the topics that seems to have been coming up lately is FOCUS. In our multi-media, social networking times, focus seems to be more and more difficult to come by. Personally, in order to simply write this blog post, I turned off my iPad (I was listening to the Hay House World Summit), put my phone on silent and closed all other browser windows (no Facebook or Gmail notifications visible). We are caught up in the busyness of life and a lack of focus actually seems the norm. Multitasking is encouraged. Being connected 24/7 is assumed.

What if all of this was actually counter-productive? What if we could actually learn more, achieve more and have more fun if we simply tuned in and focused on one thing at a time?

The reason that most of us aren’t able to focus is because we lack clarity in what we are doing. We have goals that are unclear, we have business models that allow us to be the “expert” in 5 or 6 different things or even worse, we are living our lives on autopilot so that most of what we HAVE to get done can be completed without focus of any kind.

My suggestion? Take some time to be CLEAR on what you want. You’re a business owner? What is it that you do BEST? Why are you different then the other real estate agents, mortgage brokers, financial advisors or network marketers out there. By figuring out what you are BEST at, you’ll be more focused which will lead to better quality of work (and life!) and more will come to you as truly become an expert.

Take action today:

  • If you are a habitual multi-tasker – spend one day doing only one task at a time. Start with the most important one first thing in the morning (not email!!) and get it done. At the end of the day, notice if you got more or less important work completed.
  • Business owner or entrepreneur? Take the time to figure out what you’re BEST at. Focus on that. Keep it simple and make it easy for people to choose you in a sea of similar entrepreneurs.
  • Focus on your family. A few simple ideas – greet your spouse with love and kindness when you see them after work. Spend 15 min outside with your kids, without a phone at your side.

What I’ve come to realize is that one of the things that I do best is to share the message of the importance of daily gratitude. My new book, 30 Days of Gratitude, has become an Amazon Bestseller – but more than that, it’s inspiring people to take action and make changes in their lives. I’ll be sharing this message a GUEST on The Good News Only Radio Show on Radio, on Thursday, June 13th at 7PM EST.

If you are not able to listen LIVE, I’m happy to let you know that the show will be rebroadcasted several times, and will also be available to listen to or download in the Host & Archive section:

Create an amazing day!
