Grand Opening – Goodness Me! in Burlington
This week is the Grand Opening of the new Goodness Me! store in Burlington. It’s at least 3 times the size of their old location on Fairview, close to Walker’s Line. There are events happening this Friday June 22 – Sunday June 24th. If you’re in the Burlington (Ontario) area, I suggest dropping by for a visit.
I took a quick look around the store yesterday – it was only their 2nd day open. It’s a much bigger store and feels a lot more open. They have also included a kitchen, so fresh food will be made on site, including hot entrees and sides and a fresh salad bar. For those who are gluten intolerant, there will be a selection of gluten-free pasta dishes and salads too. I’m planning to stop by again on Friday, as the kitchen should be up and running by then and there is a patio outside for lunch!
The great things is that I found everything on my list – most of these items I usually get at the local Fortin
os supermarket, but I’m curious about the pricing, to see how close they are. This store is only a few blocks from my home so it’s easier if I need something last minute. I picked up a bag of frozen NudeFruit (it was on sale for $3.97). Delicious in my morning Nutrimeal Vanilla shake – in fact my daughter drank almost a 1/4 of my shake!
I also finally decided to try gluten-free bread. I’m not sure if anyone has looked at gluten-free bread, but it mostly lives in the frozen section and feels like it weighs a ton. I have been enjoying Food For Life Brown Rice Wraps for some time, but missed just having a slide of bread with almond butter.
I tried Udi’s Whole Grain Bread Loaf this morning with Maranatha Roasted Almond Butter. Not really that great. Anyone have any suggestions for a gluten-free bread? At anywhere between $6-8 a loaf, I’d love some ideas before buying too many!!
The only thing I was disappointed with is the size of the produce section. For a natural health food store, you would assume this would be a larger part of the store but I felt like it wasn’t much bigger than it had been at the other location. Yes, they had the products I needed yesterday, but I’m not sure I would be able to do a week’s worth of shopping in their produce section. Let me know what you think after you’ve taken a look too!
One last thing, we’ve still got new clients doing the 28 Day Total Body Detox – and we’re still seeing some pretty amazing results. Nina just finished the program, she lost 6 lb and fits into all of her summer clothes – and she feel great! Nina eats a very healthy, balanced diet, as well as exercising regularly. By making a few small changes during the detox program, and being diligent with her supplements, she was able to release the weight. Congratulations on your success!

I dropped by the new location the morning of their opening day – but they were still setting up a lot of things so it was hard to get a feel for the store. It looks like it has a much bigger selection for sure though! And I’m so excited about the hot food/salad bar! I’ll have to pop by again next week when it’s more finished.
