It’s January 6th, 2014. And I have yet to set any New Year’s Resolutions, Goals for 2014 or confirm my intentions for the year. No matter how you word it, I’ve not planned my year …. yet. In the past, I have been fairly diligent in setting my goals for the year, in fact I even have a chapter all about it in my book, 30 Days of Gratitude. There is a 30 Days of Gratitude – Day 16 Create a Yearly Plan you can download to create your goals for 2014. And if you are into goal setting, then this is for you!!
I am a goal getter and goal setter. In fact, I achieved many of the goals I had planned in 2013. Yeah me! But that’s the thing, I didn’t really feel like celebrating as I had fallen short in many areas where I was SURE I’d reach my goals. Hard to admit, but financially I ended up in about the same place as the year prior (so zero net growth) in 2013. There were a number of factors that lead to this but frankly, I realize that it’s up to me change this situation for 2014.
So, what is the plan for 2014? Well, I’m trying a number of different things. First, I’m going to focus on my passions. What am I most passionate about? If you’ve been following my blog and social media posts, you’ll notice that I am passionate about:
- Living Daily Gratitude
- Clean, healthy, low-glycemic & gluten-free lifestyle
- Parler français et une communauté françaises
- Working with amazing people who inspire me everyday
This year will be based around my passions. I’ve been working on a few different programs to help me shape my year. On January 1, I spent the day (virtually) with Leanne Grechulk, lifestyle and leadership expert, who lead us through her #wickedlife mastermind program. This is a hands-on, get the work done planning session (4 hours!) that is not simply about goal setting, but about really being in the driver’s seat of your life. Due to popular demand, she is hosting another one on January 12th.
The second program I have been working through is the new Desire Map by Danielle Laporte. I spoke about it in my last post and have just started the workbook. I love that there is a section devoted to Gratitude. Her work really resonates with me and I promise I’ll share with you my core desired feelings once I figure it all out. Here’s a great video of Danielle with Marie Forleo that explains a bit more about the program.
So, don’t sweat it if you haven’t figured out 2014 just yet. I encourage you to take the time over the next week to create your plan, focus on your passions and point your compass in the right direction for success – but do it in a way that feels good for you!!
