My faith is something that I struggled with for a long time, and I even included a chapter in my book, 30 Days of Gratitude about gratitude and faith. To me, faith is part of the foundation that is needed to create the life of our dreams.
Gratitude tip: when your life is built on a foundation of gratitude and faith, you can create anything and any lifestyle you desire.
It turns out that attending church is an important part of my faith. And including God in my life, every day, is also essential for me personally. It wasn’t always like this for me, as a grew up in a home where faith wasn’t really discussed, we were the C&E Catholics, you know what I mean? I was always curious about faith however and always believed that there was something more than just us. Four and a half years ago, shortly after my daughter was born, I decided to attend our local French Catholic Church to have her baptized. I ended up joining the congregation and I’ve been teaching their Sunday School for over three years.
Lately, I’ve had a few doubts about where I am part of the right church for me and family. There are many challenges with this small church, the biggest one is that it’s not growing and my class of students went from small to tiny. My daughter really enjoyed coming with me and doing Sunday School, so I want to continue to attend a service. I am using the summer to explore my options.
Have you ever been in a situation where you had to change your place of worship? What made you decide to shift? What’s important to you when it comes to growing your faith? And for those who don’t attend church, how do you connect with faith?
I’d love your input and suggestions.
