stop looking for diamonds, daily gratitude project, the grateful entrepreneur, julie boyerIn any business. leadership is required. In our business model, our goal is to find leaders and duplicate leadership in order to grow and create true leverage. This is one of the biggest challenges faced not only in Network Marketing, but in all kinds of organizations across the globe. Where are all the leaders?

Gratitude Tip: Stop looking for Diamonds (leaders). Decide to be a Diamond and you’ll attract leaders naturally. You know that in life the more you are grateful, the more you will have to be grateful for. It’s the Law of Attraction in action. The same thing goes for Leadership. If you want to attract more leaders into your organization, become a better leader.

This quote may seem obvious at first glance. Be a leader to attract leaders, that makes sense. So if I’m already a leader, why aren’t I attracting more leaders? I spend a lot of time studying John C. Maxwell’s work, Maxwell is one of the world’s best trainers and speakers when it comes to leadership. In his book, the 5 Levels of Leadership, he explains how leadership really works. You may be a leader right now, but you are at a level 2. Which means that you won’t be able to attract anyone above your level. Simply put, a Level 1 leaders is assigned a leadership position. A Level 2 leader has more influence and some followers. A Level 3 leader has built a tribe or a following. A Level 4 has attracted more leaders. And a Level 5 leader has leaders who are attracting other leaders (duplication).

Becoming a Level 5 leader is a big challenge, and in order to become a Diamond (or what ever the top rank in your company is), you’ll have to become a leader who leads leaders, who lead other leaders. This is why there are so few people at the top. The personal development required in order to become a Level 5 Leader is beyond what most people will ever achieve in this lifetime. The good news is that you can DECIDE at any time that you are going to the top. And then do the work on yourself in order to get there. My mentor, Leanne Jacobs, knew from the beginning that she was going to the top, and she did it in 6 years. She not only went to the top, she lifted up many leaders on her way. And since that time, those leaders have continued to create more and more leaders. She’s created a true Level 5 leadership business, and has also seen a few other Level 5 leaders grow and duplicate in her organization.

Where are you today? I highly recommend getting a copy of the 5 Levels of Leadership or any John C. Maxwell book on leadership, as they are all excellent. It’s completely up to you to decide what kind of a leader you’d like to be. Once you’ve made the decision, you’ll see that the right people and opportunities will come into your life. I’m ready to grow to Level 5 in 2016. Who’s ready to join me?
