Tips on How To Create Beautiful Money

Jun 2, 2017 | Leadership | 0 comments

Have you ever considered the concept of Beautiful Money? It’s a different perspective on wealth creation and how we think about money. It’s also the topic of the book Beautiful Money: The 4-Week Total Wealth Makeover by Leanne Jacobs. Her book launched in New York City several months ago and I had the chance to attend in person. Leanne and I have been friends for the past 17 years, and she has been my mentor in business for over a decade. She brought together some of the most incredible female entrepreneurs I have ever met for her book launch event in New York City.

Each speaker shared their tips on how to create beautiful money, and I’ll give you the highlights in this post. I’ll also be sharing tips from the book itself. Having read it several times since the book launch, I’ve found more and more tips that have changed my life in an instant. What’s even more amazing is that the book has had an incredible effect on so many people around me. One of my business partners has completely shifted her thinking from scarcity to abundance after reading the book.

Beautiful Money Tip #1 – Start with the truth. Take the time to calculate your net worth, even though it may be in the negative. It’s critical to acknowledge where you are starting before taking the next steps in your wealth journey.

Me (far right) with several of the guest speakers

The first guest speaker was Patricia Moreno, creator of The intenSati Method. Patricia is a beautiful, kind spirit whose smile makes you feel immediately at ease. She lead us through a wonderful money meditation that was very powerful and truly transported me to another plane. The one Beautiful Money tip she shared that most resonated with me was to always be the poorest person in the room. When we want to grow our wealth, the best thing to do is to surround ourselves with others who have already achieved similar goals. At the event, I felt like the poorest person in the room. It was awesome being surrounded by Patricia and the other guest speakers!

Beautiful Money Tip #2 – The Beautiful Money Cleanse. In the era of Marie Kondo and her KonMari Method™, it’s fitting that the first action step to creating money is creating space. To create beautiful money, we have to clear space not only in our homes, but in our in-boxes, to-do lists and at an emotional level as well.

Next we heard from Farnoosh Torabi, who made the effort to join us for the launch evening and is expecting her second child in a few weeks (update, she welcomed her daughter in March) . I was intrigued by her bestselling book titled When She Makes More: 10 Rules for Breadwinning Women. This is something that is an issue in our profession, since over 70% of network marketing professionals are women and 80% of women who make over $100K a year have done it in direct sales. I’m very grateful that it’s not been an issue in our family as my husband is excited for the day when he can retire from his job and become a professional gaming streamer on Twitch (don’t worry I had no idea what that meant at first too). Her most powerful Beautiful Money tip was that we have to remember that TIME is our most precious commodity. A simple reminder yet the most important one to remember – we can always create more money, however we cannot create any more time.

Beautiful Money Tip #3 – Affirm Abundance. There are lists of incredibly powerful and positive affirmations in the book, however the one that stands out the most is: Today beauty, abundance and grace are flowing my way.

Melanie Smith and I connected from the moment we met. She is a wonderful and kind woman, who makes you feel as though you are the most important person in the room when she is speaking to you. Her story is truly remarkable and I encourage you to read her about me on her website. The Beautiful Money tip that she shared that truly spoke to my soul is that God wants you to have money, because once you have money, you are free to be the hands and feet of God here on earth. When I spoke to Melanie after the event, I began to cry when I spoke about what she had shared. My faith is the cornerstone of my life and has been for the past few years. And the way she spoke about money and God resonated with me on such a deep level that it shifted something inside of me.

Beautiful Money Tip #4 – Set Your Celebration Dates. Have you ever set a date for when you are going to be debt-free or financially-free? Writing down these key dates and goals will ‘create magical momentum in your life.’

Kate Northrup and I have been friends for years and it’s always a joy to hear her speak live. As a new mother of a beautiful little girl, she has grown so much over the past year and a bit. She’s been one of the leaders in the Beautiful Money movement, beginning with her bestselling book Money, A Love Story: Untangle Your Financial Woes and Create the Life You Really Want published in 2013. She is currently on a mission to encourage women to Do Lesswith the Do Less Experiment that started in January. Her most powerful Beautiful Money tip was to do less – when we SPEND (as opposed to INVEST) our energy and our time, this is a sin against our soul. Wow. Simply wow. Very powerful language on how important is it to value our time.

Beautiful Money Tip #5 – Become a Money Magnet. This reminds me of Jim Rohn when he said “success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become.” How can we do this? We can find great mentors, create systems using leverage and become a student of wealth. Any of the women featured in this post would be a great mentor.

The final guest speaker of the night was Jen Groover. Jen and I met years ago at an event that Leanne hosted at The Spoke Club in Toronto. I have always admired Jen as an entrepreneur, business woman and mom. She is a kind and giving person who remains incredibly humble, regardless of her massive successes in business. The Beautiful Money tip she shared that most resonated with me was to set a non-negotiable goal.

When Jen first launched her invention, The Butler Bag, she had a goal to create $1 million in sales in year one. Everyone told her that was impossible, yet she did it anyhow. She set a non-negotiable goal and the Universe aligned to make it happen. That gave me chills, as I realized that my husband and I had created a goal and vision for the next year – and within days of writing it down, I was already thinking of ways to cut it down to size. I found myself worrying about HOW it would manifest. The HOW is none of my business! I’ve got to stay true to my non-negotiable goal, since it’s what we both want.

Beautiful Money Tip #6 – Leadership, Leverage, Legacy and Love. These are the 4 L’s of Beautiful Money. None is more important than the other. Together they allow us to live an authentically holistic life, filled with Beautiful Money.
