I decided that it was important for me to live my blog post yesterday. And we did! What a wonderful day full of making memories as a family. We had a lot of errands to do but ended up with several unexpected moments of fun and new friendship.

julie boyer, gratitude project, daily gratitudeWe stopped by the Central Library here in Burlington and saw a huge bouncy castle set up and games for kids. We went to take a look and found out that there is a Guiness Book of World Record attempt going on in the Music Center nearby. Steve Gaul is attempting to beat the current record by drumming for more than 135 straight!! Check out Drumathon III on Facebook. If you live in Burlington or nearby, make sure to stop by and support him over the next few days. To donate, please visit the Cardiac Kids website here. The fundraising goal is $100,000 and every donation makes a difference.

Gratitude Tip: You make a difference! Even the smallest donation can make a difference to someone’s life. Most fund-raising goals are met by a large number of people making small donations.

We spent our afternoon at the pool of course, as it was very hot and sunny. We ended up meeting new friends and spending most of the afternoon with them. We were there for over 3 hours! My daughter jumped into the deep end off of the diving board for the first time ever. Talk about making memories!

My hubby and I sat at the dinner table last night and reflected on how great our day really was, and how a few unexpected adventures had made it a day filled with memories. I realize that not every day is going to be like this one, but my goal is to continue to work at being present, going with the flow and enjoying the moments.

Did you make the most of your day yesterday? What about today?
