Our beautiful baby girl Céline Evangéline Boyer arrived a little bit early on Tuesday Sept 28th, at 2:08 pm.  She was born at 36 weeks and 5 days, so our birth plan changed and she was born at Joseph Brant Hospital, assisted by midwives Jen and Tracy.  Proud father Dan and good friend Chantelle were excellent labour support coaches! It all happened very quickly, waters broke at 5 am and by 9 am I was in active labour. By the time we got the hospital I was 5 cm (at 10 am).  A short turn in the whirlpool tub and by the time I got out, I was 9.5 cm.  It took 90 min to push out our little peanut, since her hand was beside her face. She is tiny but has long limbs and big feet like Daddy!! Born at 2:08 pm, she was 5 lb 8.5 oz at birth and 18.5 inches long. It was love at first sight! Céline was born without any medical interventions – just a lot of hard work from mommy! I’m grateful that our midwives respected my wishes and held the space for us at the hospital.

Please excuse me if blogging takes a backseat for a few weeks! This parenting stuff can be a challenge. I am humbled and have a lot to learn. This isn’t something you can read about in a book. Thank for all your support, kind wishes and generosity.

She’ll catch up to her peers soon enough.
