One of my other passions (besides gratitude) is guiding people to make healthy lifestyle choices so that they can make permanent changes. As the founder of the 30 Day Whole Body Detox, I’ve had my fair share of personal challenges when it comes to sugar – and that’s why sugar is off the menu – not only in the detox, but as much as possible in our every day lives.

Gratitude Tip: During this holiday season, I encourage you to pay close attention to how your body is feeling after you eat. It’s so easy to say yes to foods that don’t serve us, except in the moment. Show gratitude for all of the effort and great choices you’ve made this year by continuing to respect your body and choosing nourishing foods as often as possible.

Let’s enjoy the holiday season without completely getting off track! Sugar is so very addictive and it’s easy to fall off the wagon when it comes to eating sugar. What I notice is that when I have too much sugar, I quickly have a drop in energy, and I’m super tired. My digestion is off and I end up craving more sugar and carbs. All it takes for me is a few servings of chocolate or sweets to set off the cycle of cravings again. Having given up sugar completely for several months at a time, I know how my body feels when I’m not eating it. This can be a challenge for many who don’t really know what it feels like to not eat sugar every day.

  • Low-glycemic carbohydates
  • Healthy fats
  • Adequate protein
  • An abundance of fiber

I’ve been working with clients for almost a decade in nutrition and wellness, and I’ve been my own guinea pig a lot!
